That is super cheap. I've got one myself and it too is free of chainsuck so perhaps you are right that by 2000 it was history.

Mine doesn't have decals, would like some one day.

Litespeed version so is prone to chainsuck. Stick with Shimano and not Race Face chainrings and you’ll be fine.

Some frames have less clearance between the Chainstay and chainring with a given chainline.
Also quality aluminium frames (and carbon) can be written off in a single event.
