Here is my Cougar SLX.

Hopefully the pics will do it justice - not good at scaling/sizing -
Got the frame ages ago ... its a nice blue hue.

Turned this project into a retro modern having seen a number of bikes on here done well.

Scoured the usual sources for the Shimano dura ace components to build her up with... took blinking ages cos I never like to pay full wack and because fund were stretched....

Knew I wanted a tidy/tight little machine... needed to have the essence of a retro but wanted to see what relatively modern grouppo would run like on steel set up...

The frame is a peach... there are several areas of wear and chips which I have touched in having had some paint mixed up for me..

handling is crisp/responsive and the bike is chuckable...

I look at other bikes I like as starting point for the builds... on this I looked at Batavus and de rosa from early 90's.

Think it has that feel and although the DA is unmistakeable it hangs together well on the frame... well that's my opinion... the Girardi adds a little class to perch the back side on....

nice havent seen one of these with plain paint... looks good . i like the bars and stem . chain set looks really beefy but not too ott .
could any one tell me was s l x a lot diff to 753 ?
