Cotic Escapade

What rack are you using. I have trouble with racks because of the wishbone rear seat stay.

I already had a Tortec Expedition rear rack which fits fine. The wishbone didn't cause any issues as the mounts on the rack are almost infinitely adjustable and it clears the disk brake easily. I've just taken delivery of their matching front rack which also fits well with no clearance issues. The only thing I would say, is that the M5 bolts they supply for the mudguard braze on at the dropouts is WAY too long at 25mm. It fouls the disk mounting bolts. It's a simple fix though- just need some shorter 20mm bolts.

Re:

D'you know what- I've never really noticed them, which must be a positive thing. The bike is far more compliant than the Ridley carbon frame it replaced, but that was a race frame and pretty unforgiving. I've done some 100mile days on the Cotic and it doesn't get uncomfortable like the Ridley did. It has a much higher front end which helps, but the steel is certainly more forgiving. The forks are very direct steering, they have a 9mm through axle so track nicely but soak up some of the buzz and the more relaxed head angle means it's not twitchy.

I don't feel the need to change them and that's got to say something?

Gotta love winter riding

I've made a couple of minor changes. Its now sporting a Ti railed Charge Spoon and matching bar tape. FSA compact drop bars and Continental Gator Skins in 32c

It makes for a perfect winter road bike. Will be transferred to adventure duties when the weather gets better.

superlative!
campy + steel + hope... awesome!

Cheers. :D

I do love Campag kit. Just wish they'd pull their finger out and release a disk brake.

I'm currently looking for a new summer road bike & have been looking at Orro bikes. (Check them out if you haven't seen them).

They do a version of their Gold frame with a full Portenza groupset, but I've been really tempted by the ferro which is a lugged 853 frame built up with silver Veloce.
