Well saying its a bank holiday weekend i might aswell scratch my elevated chainstay itch with this Corratec i got from Nik.
Don't really know alot about Corratec but i love e stay bikes and Tange Prestige so had to buy it and give it a new lease of life.
So what to do with it, well looking on line they like there bright colours and i have some bright spray paint and i've had these wheels for ages so this is the starting point, sunglasses at the ready 😎😂

Picked the brakes to go on it some Deore LX V Brakes the colour of them goes well with the rims. It's hard to tell in that light but there very similar.

After digging through some of the frames the Corratec appeared again, looking at it instantly i got an idea in my head on how it should look,a really dark blue/purple mettalic flip with gold decals and two minutes later i had everything wrote down for the build.
Just need to fill the dent in the toptube and it'll be swiftly off to the powder coaters.
Bizzare really how it happened because normally it takes me ages to get ideas into my head but with this i just knew that's how it's gonna look.

That's the wheels and tyres sorted just need to give the spokes aclean and polish the hubs and there done. Black DX hubs on black Wolbers with the new Michelin Tiagra tyres which should set the bike off nicely.
And a couple of pictures of the Corratec currently sporting P2's at the moment but may use the original curved forks. It'll cost more but i may end up getting both forks done and decide form there 🤷‍♂️
This is the dent in the toptube, i've got some stuff from work which turns to a metal which should do the trick to fill it and not cause any problems with powder coating once filed back smooth again.
I'm also going to get the DX pedal cages done in the same colour and then fill the Deore DX lettering in gold and do the same with the Deore crankarms. With those i've had an idea because you can get replacement Deore DX replacement seatpost decals which to my eyes look exactly like the ones used on the crankarms, so the plan would be to see if they can be done in gold instead, that should look pretty good 😁
I'm undecided whether to use the original stem or a Kona Velocity stem but i'll get those both done in the same colour and decide from there, could mix it up with the forks, who knows🤷‍♂️
And i've just this second had a lightbulb💡 moment, i'm sure Orange did the Hot Rod bars in anodised gold so if anyone has some for sale please send me a message because i think they'll look perfect with the purple.
As for the colour i need to have a look what my local powder coaters have got but the aim is to get it so it almost looks black but when you look at it from different angles you get the purple/aubergine (think of a Escort Cosworth)

Replacement Deore chainset decals can be bought and the seller says they would do them in gold 😀
They also do the replacement hub ones and would do them in gold which made me think what about getting the hubs done in the same colour with the gold decals applied 🤔
I fear i will be heading down a expensive rabbit hole with this build 🫣 😂
