I think up until the mid 90's they are kinda cool, but they had too many wacky things that uncool people thought were cool.
Regular frames, i wanted one (the whole race bike thing), but not in a way I lusted after something like a Klein...

And a mate went through 3 from 92-93 and they all handled like poo... so uncool

mental thinking (to me at least) is usually pretty cool.

things like the headshock, lefty forks & some of the slightly more outlandish frame designs (like the polished one shown above) make them pretty cool in the same way boris johnson is deemed pretty cool by those who can watch his antics from afar and not suffer their consequenses!

not owning one and having no intention to own one but appreciating them for their lunacy BITD makes them a bit like this moron....
