If this was done in the topgear way it would of needed to be be sub zero, there are bikes I would rather have myself, but its a Yeti and not just any yeti its one with carbon and I think the $1200 price tag just makes it even cooler. Although I've got to say given the choice I would rather have Ameybrooks way nicer than the one on ebay.

Applying the Kristin Scott Thomas test it is not cool.

You show her into you man cave to look at your bikes, she looks over at it, acknowledges that it's a mountain bike and asks if you ride or race it on the local singletrack...

You reply no because it is one of only a handfull made and very rare and the condition is very, very clean and you wouldn't want to get it muddy or spoil it. You then go on to bore her with useless information about the bonded carbon construction, who rode them back in the day, you explain the disk drive then move onto the white Porcs, how quickly they wear out but are very sought after and just how much you payed for them...

I doubt any of this would impress Kristin Scott Thomas.

cool?

Lets liven this debate up a little: This is a hairdressers bike. No offence javascript:emoticon(':D') white tyres and turquoise bling? reminds me of a 80's rs turbo escort.

The image of Tomac on one is cool. Mike's homage to the original is the most impressive build on this site, no question. The fact that the $12k auction has so many knickers in a twist is amusing. But, is the original frame actually cool? I don't know. For me all this adds up to the worst excesses of any niche interest. It's just a bit too exclusive to actually be cool.

exclusivity is the key to long term coolness...otherwise it's just trendy.

I vote cool, though I'm still don't care much for yetis, though I've never ridden one, so I don't know if I should speak on them, but....err, ok, yes, cool
