Cool bikes you’ve/I’ve given away

Gave away two recently, 96 Zaskar to my brother. Always wanted a Zaskar, it road lovely but I am a specialized fan and my brother is getting good use out of it.

The regretful one was an m2 sworks 92 purple haze. I gave it to a fellow retrobiker who had an emotional attachment to attaining one. Woke up the next day with mixed emotions of good deed versus regret, now it’s just the regret I remember as they don’t come along very often!

In my pre-Retrobike era, gave away my owned since new ‘91 Fire Mountain for very good and sensible reasons - I wasn’t using it, and a son of a friend of a relative needed transport to college.

Now have “copy” of it, less the Mint Sauce & X-Lite stickers. That will not be given away.

Sometimes I buy a bike cheap and sell a few good parts to recoup the money, so I don't mind giving one away every now and then.

I 'restored' a Trek 6000 and gave it to my lab manager this Christmas. She was riding some old Giant that seemed to be made of cast iron. The Trek ended up being 25.5 lbs, so it was a nice upgrade:

I gave a Planet-X Compo to my buddy 5 or 6 years ago (he still has it). I stripped, powder-coated black, and put new decals on it but don't have a post-rebuild pic:

I also gave a KHS Team to a friend who lost his classic Kona in a barn fire. It had a SID on it and at some point I had it down to <22 lbs:
