Hello All,
Went to Sandpoint Idaho to visit my sister recently and was gifted a present from their garage.
Recently passed away friend Norm (original owner) was a skilled rider and logged many a miles. This is one of the forty frame/forks produced under the Cooks Design name.
Left paint as is since it shows off its history of adventures. A re-paint would be a disservice.
Parts were mainly SunTour XC Pro with XC Expert brakes. Wheels were toast as well as the seat post.
New old stock XC Pro hubs, cassette, shifters as well as SunTour qr, rear derailleur and some new/old Smoke tires.
Pedals are Specialized Direct Drive (MKS) with the carbon body and Ti spindle - bought them when they were new (glad I kept them).
Have a set of XC Pro brakes on a ABM Breezer so not wanting to poach that bike.
Hunting for a 26.8 XC Pro post since the current one is a party foul - it’s out there somewhere.
Bars are not “correct” but I actually plan to ride this thing so want to be comfortable.
As the former owner Norm would say “it’s a tool, not a trophy” and a bike looks best when dirty. Right on Norm, thanks for the ongoing project!

Here are photos Roy.
Neighbor has the proper SunTour crank bolt covers and going to machine the large diameter brake housing ferrules.
The cassettes (new) are rare but a shop owner buddy of mine has quite a few so he sported me one (bonus). A lot of new SunTour parts available in the PNW since it was distributed here in Seattle and lotsa pals used to work there.
