Converting Mavic crossmax rear wheel to Maxle possible ?

Hey guys... So... I have a set of mavic crossmax St's rim and hubs in 26 inch that im thinking of using in an orange alpine 160 frame.. The alpine is maxle spec rear dropouts while the mavic hubs are quick release.. Wondering if its possible to get some sort of adapter to help put the rear wheel on the alpine.. The front is fine as the forks are quick release anyways, but as I mentioned, the rear is maxle... Id also need the maxle axle then too...
Thought I read somwhere that st's can be converted if there above a certian year.. No clue how to identify the year of the hubs though..

Cheers

Pat

Depends on the year, not sure when that is though. I've had sets of crossmax that can swap standards, I think it is as simple as pulling off the qr adapters on there and fitting with the 12mm adapters (red usually). If you can remove the qr adapters and see if there's a 12mm axle tunnel then you may be all good.

Ok cool thanks for the heads up.. Looks like Im screwed then.. I only seem to have 8mm bearing behind the cassette when I take it off.. Inside was an 8mm half axle to keep on the cassette threaded into the hub itself, and a nub on the other side.. Dont you just love how somthing so simple now costs you a complete new wheel..

Its confusing me.. It actually looks like a 12mm axle would fit through the hub if I was able to remove the bearing and whatever is inside that the 8mm axle threads into.. Whether or not I could find somthing then to make all that work is another story..
