Contemplating a ultra lightweight Titanium bike

I´m in the mood to build a modern road bike with a little retro feel to it. To save weight, i want downtube shifters but the only ones I can find for ten speed are Shimano 7900 (I want Sram Red on the bike) Since weight is the main goal here (sub 5 kg) I would like some suggestions for alternatives.

An unbranded Ti frame from my Hong Kong contact who gets these nice frames very cheap

'synthesis' you want a sub 5k ? is that for the whole build complete ? please launch a build thread when you start
and please inc the cost of each bit ! i remember going over a bridge on a long down hill on my 12k roady, doing about 60mph. i got hit with a cross wind and it blew me at least 1.5 metres off my line. i was 12stones so not light m self.
knob, what do your tt bikes weigh ?

amazing thats less than half of any bike i have ever ridden ! '
please do launch the build thread in particular your choice of rims/spokes and hubs' tyres
id heard the sram red was the lightest at the mo, do you know is di2 comparable ?

Hi Flemming,

Why could you not use any friction shifters?

Happy New Year,

Richard
