Would an endurance athlete take clenbuterol? I believe, probably wrongly, that it can actually impede aerobic performance?
It is used to help "burn" fat, so very useful for helping the competitive cyclist get down to their "fighting" weight.
It's not the only thing it's used for - several "drugs" have thermogenic and stimulant effects.

Even though the CAS threw the allegation out, I suspect that he'd been using in the off season to get his weight down, and had "donated" some blood to his freezer that was then transfused on the rest day, reintroducing the substance back into his system.
I'm not sure athletes at that level are solely concerned with using something like this, just to get their weight down. Who's to say about athletes that compete at weight limits, but don't dismiss the stimulant effects of substances like this.

Why do i believe that or why does it impede performance?
Yes

If its the former, because I'm sure I have read somewhere that clen reduces cardiovascular capacity.
Go read the wikipedia page, and the first paragraph in the effects and dosage section.

Where do we get some of that clenbuterol then - there has to be a massive market, on RetroBike alone!!

Same place you'd go to to "buy" any other black market PED.

Nothing is without risk - least of all the obtaining thing. BUT there's very real reasons why off-label usage of drugs like this is frowned on by the medical community.

Holland & Barrett?

Small Ads of Cycling Weekly?
Good luck with that!

Just say no to drugs, look what happened to Zammo...

Why do they call it doping? Dope has to be the least effective performance enhancing drug unless its a munchies competition
