Thought I'd update this. Been attempting to 'retro' the bike to an older style if you will. Gone are the Shamal's, brakes, stem, saddle and in come a new pair of wheels; Mavic GL330's on Record hubs with Gommitilia Champion tubulars. A Concor saddle; 3ttt pantographed stem, silva fade bar tape. I also stumbled across some C-Record cranks which happen to be 1984 - they didn't appear in the catalogue until '85. Also a set of delta's just to finish it off.

It still benefits from 8 gears on the rear, the ride is far better, principally due to the wheels and tubulars.

I have a soft spot for Concordes and yours looks great - whilst I like the Shamals, your latter choice is a better one for this build

Cheers LDP, Shamals are good for show, but I don't actually like how they ride. A nice set of lightweight GL330's has transformed the feel of this bike, and hopefully made it look a little older than it is.
