I just found this thread after searching for "Apollo Laser", as I own a very shabby looking one myself that I got for £10 to use as a not-worth-stealing pub bike! Totally fascinating build, yet completely bonkers to do so much work on a bike with a gas pipe frame! I love the result, especially the colour, but I can't help thinking an old Reynolds 501 rigid MTB such as an early 90's Raleigh, would have been a better starting point and resulted in a lower finished bike weight. That said, the quality of the work is outstanding and really impressive.
