Complete P7

Couldn't believe he re-listed in a 1-day auction finishing mid-day the Friday before Xmas. I exchanged a few emails with him, he seemed a decent genuine bloke. Maybe he's going to keep the bike rather than let bit go for silly money?

Relisted on the spurious grounds that he hadn't stated the size in the first listing, and then he adds a higher reserve...
AS if a 21" bike is going to get you more punters...
Surely it's not spurious at all? He did state the size first time, but he got it wrong, so it's no surprise the first buyer pulled out.

The new reserve may just be that he'd been surprised at the price it made and thought for that money he'd rather keep it. Anyway it didn't sell, so no harm done.

It says 'winning bid', so I think it did sell.

EDIT... Looking at older ad, sorry. Yes, it just says 'current bid' now.

I asked him what size head tube it was, naively hoping it's 1 1/8 (no I'm not as au fait as most here, as is becoming very clear!), and he replied with a length. He posted this Q&A, but when I got back to him to clarify, he said he didn't know, but could get if needed.

He told me the reserve was £225. At that point i ruled myself put as i was only prepared to go a bit over £200 . Therefore, i didn 't bother watching the auction end . If it has gone for £186 then someones got a nice bike for that money. I got the impression he wanted a shed load more money than that though as " it cost over £1000 to build"

it didn't sell' I put £200 on it and "won" it for £186 but the sale didnt complete as it didn't beat reserve. I would've bid more but his feedback was low and I knew he was emigrating I would've needed the bike posting and it seemed a bit risky. It would've been a goer if I could've picked it up locally for cash I'd have gone to £275.

Nice bike!

You guys do make me laugh. I'm the one who was selling the Orange P7 and apologies if me re-listing the bike made it all look very suspicious.
Long story short, I pannicked before Christmas and tried selling a bunch of things at once which was a nightmare.
I advertised the bike with the wrong frame size and couldn't cancel the auction, so informed everyone who had been in touch with me (think that includes at least 2 people in this thread) to inform them, plus the winning bidder as soon as the auction finished. The winning bidder was very thankful I informed him and gave him the option not to go through with the purchase, which he seemed happy with (never expected positive feedback from him).

Anyway, I'm leaving the country soon and haven't got round to re-advertising the bike as been flat out with other things.
Am I allowed to say on here that it is for sale or is that a no no and to keep things to auctions?

Brand new to this site as you can tell. :D

Clarkie seems a decent and genuine seller (I was the one who won the bike second time around but didn't meet his reserve, unfortunately I have since procured a clockwork project and havnt the room for another bike).

Clarkie why don't you put it up in the mtb for sale section with piccies and your min price?
