The BMX linear cables are supposed to be crush resistant? Do you think they're the same as gear cables (with the strands as opposed to the spiral)??? Be nice to have a bit of choice on the gear cable front (I know I've got pink ones at the mo') next time...
I'd like to find a stash of the old, plastic-lined Clarke's Powerglide cables.
Maybe they were a bit thicker cable (or maybe just the teflon liner?), but the brakes on my BMX were amazing once I fitted a pair of Clarke's.
No funky colours or fat BMX cables listed on the current Clarke's site, though.
There was a coloured U.S. BMX cable, too, that always looked really pimpy. They came with a rubber hood that fitted over the brake lever, moto-X style.
Anyone remember what those were called?
Clarke's powerglides where OK but the outers were always too fat to put ferrules on, which was a bit dumb  They wouldn't fit through a pots mod hollow bolt either, which used to drive me mad!!
rite, most of this bmx stuff is the compression free stuff, so works really well with sti/sis, but is really stiff, so feels funny when you install it on mtb brakes, as its not very flexible. does work tho. it doesnt need to be that flexible on a bmx as the lengths are really long and flowing.
