A long time ago I bought into someone making some crank bolt blanking plates that matched the profile of xtr m970 cranks. They came in shiny silver and fit a treat, ideal for running single speed narrow wide ring where the middle ring would go.

While in silver they kind of go with the polished outer crank arms, I think they would look better matching the spider/main crank colour.

Has anyone any idea of a paint match for this?

A few pics for you.

Still after a decent colour match if anyone knows.

Assuming there aluminium.
Acid etch primer, or 2K epoxy primer, mix an match paint touch up pens to match colour
then 2K clearcoat, would do it and be good durability but far from cost effective with 2K stuff.

Or Acid etch primer, couple touch up pens in grahite grey with a touch of blue mixed in perhaps
and just regular satin clear coat.

Anodizing an option ? if you got a box load of stuff needing the XTR grey look,
send to a surface coatings company, they tend to charge per volume size of dip basket,
theres a few companys that cater to the gas oil industry that do various coating to deal
with corrosive enviornments etc

Ive used paint touch up pens to mix colours for bike components, SLX crank in a grey blue met,
Shimano red DX levers amonst others.
Link from a post regarding some of the paint pens used if it helps.
