Colnago Sold

Re:

Sorry to hijack but where did this model come in the hierarchy? I have this same frame in blue and think I may finally have solved which model it is!
I bid on it as a Superissimo but was then told more likely to be a Super. Mine definitely has SLX sticker on it. Not bothered by it as I'm happy with what I got for my money but would be nice to know for sure.

Re: Colnago Coninc SLX /Dura-Ace 7400/

The Super was the basic tubing of SL Type. The SLX tubing was used on the Conic and the Superissimo.
Not really any difference between the two, I think for one year they did an upmarket version of the Conic and gave it chromed lugs and chromed rear triangle and called it Total Spiral but this only came as a complete bike.

Next model up would have been the Master (external cable guides) then Master Piu (internal cable guides)

If anyone wants to correct me if I am wrong, feel free!

Re: Colnago Coninc SLX /Dura-Ace 7400/

The SLX decal, what's left of it, doesn't seem to be 'Colnago branded' which they often were. Also the shaded SLX in the sticker is of the much more recent type and the frame is an 'earlier' type on account of the text on the stays. I reckon it's a Super in Columbus SL and a very nice one as it looks like a transition model -- Colnago text on the top of the bottom bracket and the bracket shell is the 'Master style' sort with the gusset between the chainstays. That and the double brake cable guides puts it into the Nuovo Mexico era. My size too and a great colour. V nice
