Colnago Saronni

Thanks Guys,
Really appreciate you taking time to comment. Now I'm really intrigued. Any further info or where to search would be welcome. Could this be a really good fake? or were they being made under licence. The paintwork seems too good to be a rip off.
I think it's probably a fake. There's nothing there that suggests Colnago, or its subsidiaries unfortunately. The '63' under the bracket, and the details of the frame is not really ringing any Italian bells for me. The Tretubi is a dead giveaway, in Spain it's usually a shaped low budget Oria tubing, they're not entry level frames, but not top tier either

Enjoy it as the mystery it is!

Take a look at this Spanish built (for Carrera) Contini

Depends how you classify a 'fake'. Is it a Colnago Saronni? No. Is it a Tecnotrat Saronni? Probably, but without a frame-specific serial number and confirmation from Tecnotrat nobody can be certain. Is it something else wearing Saronni decals? Possibly, but given the position of the size stamping, the crimped tubing and the cromovelato finish, I doubt it.
It looks like a well made and smart looking frame which I'd bet would ride really well. If I found one in my size locally I wouldn't object to it joining my collection.
