Been offered a Conago Master.
Campag 10 speed.
Record titanium gruppo.
Gilco tubing.
Mavic Open Pro wheels.
Chrome forks and rear triangle.
Everything looks in good condition. Paint looks good.
Might/will have to change the saddle.

The sort of bike I've long wished for. SWMBO seems to be sympathetic - "It will shut you up!".

Never ridden one. Need to go and have a proper look and test ride.

What should I be looking for? Any obvious problems to be aware of?

Ensure frame size suits, I wouldn't worry if stem/bars aren't your size

Check the frame is straight, see if you can get a no-hands test ride

And check the chrome condition. Pitting will mean it suffers on every damp ride and rechroming will mean a total (expensive) refurb

Paint where it merges with the chrome on the rear triangle can be a bit brittle, don't think it keys to the chrome too well so you may find some of it missing. Even back in the day when pro teams used steel frames retail Colnagos were usually first class whereas examples from some other marques tended to be seconds.

Chrome inspection would be the main issue as if it’s indeed pitted in many areas it has also eaten it’s way through the parent metal & as stated an expensive repair job..& not particularly safe to ride…..
