Colnago Master Olympic

Hi guys, been a browser of the forum for a while, but now my Colnago restoration / build is complete I thought I'd post up some pictures.

I believe the Master Olympic was only made for a short while due to issues over the Olympic name, so I think this frame is from 95/96ish?

You might be able to make out that it also has a race number mount under the top tube near the head tube, not sure if that has any significance?

When I got the frame through a friend, it was in pretty bad shape with some nasty corrosion to the rear stays at the seat tube and the bottom bracket area. It has been treated and re-painted by a local company here in Bristol (not Argos) and the quality is fantastic, he also re-did the Flash forks which have come out superbly with the decal in paint under the lacquer rather than a vinyl sticker.

I do have another as yet unidentified old Italian steel framed bike that has guards and is used for commuting and over winter so it's not my first steel bike, but this is so much better than that, it's such a lovely ride!

Fork: 1" Colnago Flash with threadless steel steerer
Groupset: Campag Centaur polished / carbon 10 spd with carbon ultratorque cranks
Wheels: Miche Racing box hubs 28h, Sapim Race / Laser spokes, H Plus Son Archetype rims
Tyres: Vittoria Open Corsa CX
Finishing kit: Deda Zero 2 bars, stem, post, custom stem cap from Kapz
Tape: Cinelli Caleido
Saddle: Fizik Antares carbon braided
Weight: 19.03lbs

I appreciate that it's not a fully true to originality restoration but I wanted a mix of new and old and think I have struck a nice balance

Only things I plan to change at the moment are some polished skewers and a nice stainless bottle cage.

Very nice, I think the frame suits the build I recently bought a Master Olympic Decor with a Flash fork and thought I wanted a chrome fork, but looking at yours I might just keep it.
Is your fork original to the bike?

I don't think so, when my mate got it it came with a similar Time carbon fork but he also had a stock of other Colnago steel and carbon forks so I did a deal with the one above.

A steel fork would be nice to try, but I don't think a chromed one would suit it as I don't have the chromed lugs.

What , there's a company here in Bristol, other than Argos, that can do paint work of that standard....

He's primarily a motor bike painter but has been taking on a lot more of this kind of work.

Take a look at crash victim's Tecnos, he has posted above, he did some work on that and has done a number of Flash forks for us, all to a brilliant standard.

Also if you're on Facebook, take a look at Terry's Cycles and look for the bluey / purple Ciocc, he did that too.

The Master has had a few cheeky upgrades lately; Ritchey Classic finishing kit, Corsa SC oh and Chorus 11 spd.
