Retro Newbie
After 8 good years of ownership of this frame, I've reluctantly decided to move this on. This is the final iteration of carbon frame that started the revolution! I've ridden 1000s of miles on this and it has always been comfortable and sure footed.
I originally thought the HP stays were a gimmick until I rode this. It's like riding on a cushion of air. Easily the most comfy frame I've ever had for getting the miles in.
The finish on this era of Colnagos is stunning and given that this frame is now around 30 years, still looks great. I've parked this at cycling cafes and people look straight past all the Cervelo's, Specialized's, Trek's etc. and hang around this. Unless your name is Tadej Pogacar, you're unlikely to win a race on this. Technology has moved on and bikes are now lighter and stiffer but this is about history and about art. From a more romantic (and perhaps less honest!) period of cycling.
In terms of condition, it's got a few scuffs here and there but it honestly looks stunning when built up. The weave of the carbon that shows through the lacquer has a beauty to it that you just don't get anymore.
It is a Colnago 57 this means 57 from center of bottom bracket to the underside of the seat clamp. Top tube is 55.6 cm.
The Star fork it comes with is bomb proof - the most beautiful fork ever made and I'm including a recent Cane Creek headset and Shimano hollow tech bottom bracket. It also as a fork column shim that allows the 1" head tube to be used with 1 1/8" stem.
This can be viewed and picked up from Brighton.
