Having just completed the Coast to Coast (Whitehaven to Sunderland) I'm looking at options for next years cycling adventure.

As well as repeating the coast to coast I am looking at doing either the Rievers route or Hadrians Wall route.

Have any of you done either and if so which do you think was the best?

I'll pop some pics up of our coast to coast ride although I was on a 2002 Cannondale so not retro :(

Without a doubt the best ride I have ever done in my life I can thoroughly recommend it.

Re:

Here's a few of the many photos taken, only one true retro which was Dans 93 KHS, my 2002 Cannondale Badboy is at least running a retro groupset.
Luke has just bought the orange Condor which is a fantastic looking bike.

Chris, Agreed, one of the best rides I've ever done, there's just something about it..
We did it three summers back, and like you looked for the next summer's adventure finally going for the 7 Steynes in two days. As most of us dislike trail-centres this was a foolish move, particularly on a fully rigid Cinder Cone. Anyway we did it ( most of us, I visited A&E after coming off in Ae ).
This last summer we did the Trans Cambrian Way across mid Wales, taking three days with just over 100 miles and about 15000 feet of climbing, 70% off road. Its a pretty remote part of Wales and accommodation for a group can be tricky. For this reason we decided to hand the whole organisational problem over to mountainbikewales.org.uk who provided a fantastic service including Phill the guide. At first the thought of being 'guided' went against the grain, but having done it I can now say it is the best decision we've made. The route isn't brilliantly marked, and the chances for error are many. Mechanicals or injury take on a different dimension when there's no where to bail to. We were able to simply enjoy the riding. The weather was kind to us ( apart from wind on the middle day) but the thought of having to route-find in poor weather, and the added time that takes isn't pleasant. So if you fancy the hike over to Wales I suggest you try the Cambrian way, or there's always the north to south route starting with a climb of Snowdon on your first day.
We haven't decided on next year yet, but no doubt will talk it over this weekend 'cos we're off to Rhayader (the first night's stop on the Trans Cambrian) for a weekend's riding with Phill... now there's an endorsement for you. PM me if you need any info.

Rob

I did Coast to Coast off road recently, if the other guys are MTBers too I can heartily recommend it, it was well good.

Re:

I'd done the three day on-road coast to coast twice on my KHS with a small group a few years ago, carrying everything but using B&Bs. We fancied a change so did the Hadrian's Wall route next time but found it quite boring to be honest. There's hardly any wall to see and the route is quite flat, so we did the normal C2C again next time which was a lot more fun.
Possibly not the best one to pick if you're after an adventure!
