it is? elsewhere you've been told these are the forged versions.

Always refreshing to see the love for newbies on this site from armchair experts

The Syncros cranks are near net forged, then CNC'd into their final shape - hence the machining marks usually evident on the side of the cranks. AFAIK They all had either a plastic or metal 'stress transfer device' to prevent the growth of stress risers at the tight angle between the two tabs on the spider adjacent to the crank arms.

So, CNC'd AND forged? Everybody's right!! Oh, if these are the red ones - then that's clearly aftermarket. These cranks only ever came in shiny and hens-teeth-rare black.

Finally. Syncros have never produced a two-piece crank. That's the sort with the integrated BB axle isn't it? These are three piece cranks.

Cranks

They did two versions and the original photo, showed them "assembled" and looking like the two piece arms, not the three, now shown. The later models were just "pressed" not cnc'd, the red lacquer makes it look as though they are forged only and not machined, hence the confusion, personally I would invest in some Nitromors and some metal polish, then there would be a que to buy at this price ;)
