The sides of my Michelin world tour tyres are covered in oil and grime, annoying the ocd within me! What have people found to be the best way of cleaning this?
As long as the rubber is good and not beginning to break up, a good cotton towel and WD40 will bring them up like new. You'll need to clean the WD40 off the rims when you've finished though
Be careful when you do this with older tubulars. I did it once (with a pretty strong cleaner, i have to admit) and it also removed a lot of old dryed out rubber from the thread! Tubular was in a bad condition anyway, so no big problem, but keep it in mind
