For the record, Kona's are all made in Taiwan and always have been, with the exception of the titanium frames and the steel "custom" frames like the Hot and the first Caldera, as well as the alloy Ku frame. So though I'm not disagreeing about the ride quality (of Kona in general, not as compared to a CB as I've never ridden one), it clearly has more to do with geometry than where the welds were made. Most of Kona's steel frames were made from different grades of Tange cro-mo, as well.
Admittedly, I'm not altogether sure what the beef is anyway, as I had a little trouble deciphering with the lack of punctuation :? , but felt this little tidbit should be mentioned.
