Claud Butler model identification

Ratbag

Retro Newbie
Hello to you all,
I’ve been fortunate enough to have been given a Claud Butler frame and a box full of period parts too! Can somebody identify the model and date by the serial number please? The frame and forks have the same number :- 812365 T . The forks are round section and stamped on the inside near the crown is “ reynolds butted”. It’s been hand painted at some time and there aren’t any transfers or a head badge. There are two pre-war Clauds on Classic Lightweights which have lugs which match this one. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Lots of pictures would be helpful. Although there may be someone on here who can nail it from just the frame number.. @Peachy!

I found info online re. frame numbers.
8123675 :- Could be 1938 or 1948. 8 being the decade, 12 the month and 3675 the serial number. I believe that it is 1938 as it has a low profile head clip; whereas post war bikes appear to have the centre bolt quill style. Also it has the Anglo Continental style lugs. I’m unsure whether I’ve got this right, any ideas?

Thanks for the info. I’d not come across HM tube before. The frame weighs 2.020 kg and the fork 853gms, fitted with sprints & tubs it’s a good ride. Thinking of parting with my Le Jeune touring tandem to finance the frame resto, if anyone’s interested.
I’ve heard that Colourtech Dartford are very good: anybody tried them?
