Claud Butler-Holdsworth frame numbers 1959-1976

Hi folks. I picked up this bike yesterday from FB marketplace, but struggling to match the serial number with anything in the catalogues. Help would be much appreciated, as well as any insight into the paint job!

That frame number would suggest a Holdsworth Built CB from 1963. Looking at the catalog for that year it could be a Coureur or European. The other models have different lugs and these two could come in Flamboyant Orange. Looks like it has had the lugs over sprayed at some point. Might be worth checking the frame angles and set post size. More details here, https://nkilgariff.com/

Update to CB Velox S 71167 just finished its restauration , third once since 1976.Now sporting in period Campagnolo hardware, Cinelli stem and bars.
Resplendent in Ford Mustang 1964/65 turquoise light blue metallic and Wimbledon white.

For the data base.
A 1959 European. Serial # 1004 (Frame & Forks). Bought as frame, forks, crank and wheels. The only thing that bothers me is getting the correct transfers, as the catalogues on line I can find are a bit grainy in this detail, anyone with a complete bike that can send me a decal shot?

60 tooth is changed, (I would have a heart attack with that!) and now with a cottered milremo crankset. The hubs are atom, not Campy as per catalogue, but I will build them up and try them, they have polished up quite nicely and I am fresh out of other 32/40 hub combinations to lace to those rims.

I will put a photo up soon to show all the bought bits placed on the frame. I must admit, normally my taste is 70s french, but I am quite taken with this bike.

Paul Newman eh? Policemen are getting younger and I find people do not remember the stars I do!
I reckon Paul is pinching (pun intended lol) Joanne‘s musette….

Dear All,

I have a possible Roy Thame bike that is masquerading as a Gios Torino Super Record. Can anyone on here identify if this is indeed a Roy Thame or Holdsworth. Please see pictures and frame number for dating. It would be good to ascertain make, model and year.

Many thanks,

Nick

Happy to be corrected, but I have to say this dose not fit nicely with any Holdsworth or RT numbers. I see the wrap over stay and the Club shaped cutouts in the lugs; RT did use these, but most of the examples I have seen had Holdsworth shop numbers, ths frame hasn't. RT used shop numbers up to 1980 and there are also some frame from the 70's with the holdsworth 4 digit numbers. RT then used 5 & 6 digit numbers in the 80/90's, they often started with letters but not a zero. Also they tended to be across the center of the BB.

I have to say I am not seeing this as a Holdsworth or RT.
