Claud Butler branded carbon frame!?

Anyone know anything about where they get their frames from - presumably it is generic with their name stamped on?

Is it snobby to be put off by the name? :?

Claud Butler was a great name, probably the great name amongst British mass produced bikes.
It will be someone else's frame with a Claud Butler sticker.

I realise that - but sadly they ruined their name by churning out loads of cheapy bikes. A vintage CB would be lovely.

Personally, I wouldn't fancy a modern Claud Butler. But then, I am an awful snob.
I might know of a nice old CB frame if you really want one.

Ahrg..no money at the moment by cheers anyway.

My friend is looking at one of their road bikes as his first bike, and I reckon it might be a good option as is v cheap (second hand) and probably performs in a similar way to many other carbon frames?

It will do the job, but not well. I bet it was bought, used a couple of times, then put away because the original owner hated it.
Better to start with something more general purpose, with bigger clearances and slightly slacker geometry, and if your friend subsequently decides that's the kind of road bike he wants to get something a bit better.
