Maybe someone can help me with more information about a wooden track wheel. Maybe from the 20/30's. One side of the flip-flop hub has a normal freewheel from 1954 (I already found out) 17 teeth, English brand THE VILLIERS MODEL DE LUXE.
On the other side of the hub a normal track cog 17 teeth and also a strange very narrow freewheel (16teeth) which can easily mounted next to the track cog on the normal thread side of the hub.
The track cog does not have any marks, the narrow freewheel says: BREVETTO No 445528 SOC.ITAL.CAT-MERATE. From Italy. The bearings are not covered. Not really necessary on a track. I can recall that the bike of Eddy Merckx during his world hour record in Mexico (1972) was equipped the same.
One spoke is missing. And is not completely riound anymore. Never minds, it is not my intention to use it. Just for fun and decoration.
The woorden rim is marked PRIX-PARIS and MADE IN FRANCE (wth some imagination). Ment for tubulars ofcourse in that time.
