I've been looking as wanting to convert to threadless, the only one I found was on ebay.com (US) $300 used! I may stick to using a nut

You should keep to a nut! If you have threaded forks, why do you want to change?

I'm building an Alpinestars Alu-Mega and want to fit a Manitou 3 fork that's the correct 1 1/4" but threadless. I've just been reading a post about cutting threads in threadless steerers so now looking at that as an option.

I have found one place that has a new 1 1/4" Chris King Headset to sell in their shop. However they are not in my country and wont take VISA only a bank transfer, am unsure about that to be honest.

If you cut threads you cant go back. I would lean more on buying a 1 1/4" Threaded Headset and try to change that to Threadless first. https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/1-1-4”-xt-headset-bnib-plus-stems-sintesi-zoom.481729/#post-3604162 (either way you will need a Threaded Headset) @charlE30

@charlE30 You could try a Google Search for: " New First Components Threadless Headset 1-1/4" Loose Ball Bearing Black/Silver " I have no affiliation with them so I can not comment, looks like they have sold a lot! Let me know if you buy a set!

You are the "Silverfish" after all ;) - I have a new "Tange 1 1/4" here for a build, however would be interested if we could negotiate a parting re: one of those Black Kings?
