Cheap Saracen Forcetrax (1995 ish?) **sold**

Retro Newbie
Hi All

Bought this Saracen off ebay a few weeks back as a cheap hack/commuter (and I do like 90s Saracens), but after giving it a clean and replacing the rear brake cable I think it needs a new outer and middle chainring (they look quite worn). It jumps when putting any hard pressure on the pedals but the chain isn't slipping off the rear sprockets. It was listed as being in full working order but that's the risk you take :)

I haven't got the tools or the skills to fit new ones and now just want the shed space back, but if you like old Saracens and have some suitable chainrings in the parts bin then it might be of interest.

Frame looks like 19" or maybe 18" (seat post suits me where it is and I am 6' 0"), it is covered in marks and scratches but no dents or cracks. Gripshifts I presume are not original and rear is 6 speed even though the cassette is 7 speed. Mechs seem to work fine, no idea if they are original. Alivio front canti and Deore rear canti, both working but front pads will need changing soon. Altus cranks. Rear wheel is slightly out of true but wouldn't affect the ride. Road tyres fitted, look to have plenty of life left.

£30 collected and it's yours. Collection only I'm afraid from mid Cornwall (the box it came in has sadly been cut up and turned into dolls houses for my 2 girls while I was at work!!).

Happy to provide more details/pics on request.

Many thanks.

Re:

Bump for any offers, or else I'll be riding it to the tip (on the inner ring) and walking home, and it'll become several baked bean tins!
