Cheap chinese bits.

Re:

Bought this GUB seatpost for a giggle as it's 206g. It's really nicely made! I'll let you all know when I get the remnants surgically removed :D Have ordered some brake levers as well as they look cool. Hey they are cheap enough to try?

I bought one for some daft price - I'm scared (not scarred, yet).

Same as USE no?

Looks a lot like the woodman seatpost I'm running, which comes in quite a way under 200g. Be careful setting it up, or enjoy, as I did, the sensation of "no saddle riding" in a gnarly downhill section, followed by "scrabbling around in the mud finding that bloody half moon bit" and "realising you don't have the allen key required to tighten it all up again".

On the other hand, I've not broken it, and since I re-set it up, no problems either.

Gulp! I know. Will be trying these in the street full force before going off road. Don't know why I am so scared, is it the minimal metal, the poor spelling on the box or the fact they are chinese? The quality is fantastic. Proof is in the pudding.......which is what I might end up as :( Felt the same about Tektro bitd and they were OK?

Re:

Tektro had a bit more meat on them, they are skinnier than Kate Moss's fingers, and you wouldn't want to be pulling on them in the middle of forest somewhere ;)
