I have both, and although the A2Z is simpler to fit, the Chasertech looks more funky IMHO. Is there any advantage or disadvantage with either of them?

Re:

A2z looks cleaner, have seen examples of frames with the chasertech style most cause the boss to break. Could just be down to bad setup. It does look cool though.

Re:

A2Z needs a hold drilled through drop out to stop it rotating backwards if you absentmindedly hold the brake on and roll slightly backwards - I've torn a brake hose doing that in the past....

Chaser tech is yet another name for a brake adaptor that has been around since god was a boy. Its good as long as your brake boss is firmly welded into place as it puts a fair bit of stress into it under heavy braking. Buggered up a trek of mine in the past snapping the boss clean off.
Better idea would be to brace the brake torque arm against the stay in some manner. All after market brake adaptors need a bit of bodgineering.

I know this is an old thread, but i have several older frames that i want to convert to disc, and wanted your guys advice...
Currently i have a late model Manitou FS frameset (1998 i think). Probably the last year it was produced.
I bought a cheap $14 A2Z knock off, and while i can get the rear skewer through it, and it is centered in the dropout... due to the rear suspension pivot being where it is, the a2z is angled too far back. It doesnt rest on the seat stay like its supposed to, about 2 inches away.

So my only other option is the chasertech (btw, do you guy recall what it was called before??).
The Chasertech store selling them on ebay doesnt recommend using it with this this frame. Says the dropouts are too "lightweight", not sure what that means, They seam pretty burly, though not large.

The question is, assuming the chasertech will work with the rear swingarm compression arc, do you...
A) think i can get it to work without the secondary through-bolt going through (a drilled out) hole in the dropout?
B) will put too much stress on the brake boss on these old manitou frames? I know they're prone to cracking, but ive never seen em cracked in the rear triangle, only the front triangle\main frame.

(Btw i was thinking of attaching a spare brake arch\plate\booster, to spread the load across both bosses??)

Any help\advice would be appreciated
