I have a Campagnolo cassette 9 speed 11 29 I need to replace this but all I can find is 12 29 will this make a lot of difference ?
Chris

Depends on what riding you do
If youre racing or have a descent of several km that you pedal down as fast as you can, then possibly.

For normal riding, id sooner have the 12-up, as youll have closer ratios in the gears you ride 90% of the time

Thanks for the replies,I was more concerned whether I would have to do anything with the rear derailleur

OK
Bought a 12 29 9 speed cassette, it doesn't fit, the splines are completely different, the wheels were new in 2005.
Any ideas
Chris

Campag and Shimano use different spines on the freehub. Got a photo? The wisdom of the internet also says 8 speed Campag hubs are different than 9 speed.

All of my hubs are Campag 9 speed, with the earliest being a 1999 Record - I've never had a problem with cassettes, I've 3 (or possibly 4) Campag that I've bought over the years and a recent Miche in Campag fitting.
All fit with no problem so I'd suspect that you've got a Shimano pattern cassette or that you're not aligning the index spline when trying to fit it.
