Old inner tube held on with a zip tie. Cheap, very effective, and quiets it right down. Plus you can use green, black and whatever other colours they make.

Yup, that works too. The inner tube is just a bit lighter for an xc bike.

Those Lizzard skins velcro things, loose their appearance and get grubby looking a bit quick though :roll:

The original, the best...The Shimano XT Shark fin. Never owned a bike without one.

A strip of foam, duck taped on. Lucky enough it's black tape and I've got black frames.
I've also done the zip-tied strip of inner tube/tyre thing which works well
