Chainstay Protector re-use

I'm currently prepping a frame and am considering removing the chainstay protector to allow for easier polishing.
Is this a straightforward enough task (heatgun/ fishing line to remove?) and importantly, in people's own experience, can they be re-used if they're in a decent condition to start with?
Anything else to consider?

Adhesive chain protectors will usually come off with relative ease using a heat gun.

Don't reuse it, get a new removable one which is far superior to an adhesive one.

Yes, can be re-used just fine.

You can reuse them fine, just re-apply stickiness. Same as you can reuse decals.
