Chainring bolts

I am fitting a 2x ring set to my XTm752 cranks. Obviuosly I need to do something about the outer/middle bolts. I have 3 choices:

Tabs such as Raceface (pricey for what they are) or e13 (plastic and questionable reviews.

Single ring bolts.

Washers (Not keen on this one).

Anyone used the former (raceface), do they look ok?

Anyone tried any of the Ebay ally chainring bolts, that they would reccomend? LBS has no single ones at all, Even on ebay they ain't bargain basement so I don't want to buy cack.

(I haven't got a set of spare bolts to grind down, that did cross my mind and I don't want to do this to the ones I took out. Have looked in my box for and old ring to make tabs out of and drew a blank there, I think this would take a while too!)

Re:

Don't waste your time grinding them them.

I got two sets (5 in set) of red alloy chainring bolts for single chainring (bought in error TWICE  )

Long story as to why I got confused .... anyway, cost inc postage in UK is £ 4.50 ( you can buy hem for typically £ 7 +)

Re:

Why is there more risk of leg impalement when the large chainring is missing?.... but bash ring will save having to source different bolt.... or leave outer ring as is or file down the teeth.

Re:

I had thought of that, but not sure what size outer ring to use yet. I have a 38/24 set or 32/22 from the existing 44/32/22. I don't want to find I have too big a jump between rings (I think the 50/34 on my road bike is too big a jump) nor find I haven't a big enough gear for the road sections at each end of a ride. So I don't want to commit to a bash ring size, and tbh I haven't had too many chainring injuries in the years I have been mountain biking, plenty of injuries yes but not from chainrings!

I think short bolts may be the way to go for now, thanks for the offer of bargain red ones 02gf74, but red will be a bit much with the rest of the colour scheme even if it is only 4 bolts!
