Chain recommendation required

What Shimano chain should I be buying for a Shimano 96 STX-RC chainset with 7 speed rear Cog? TIA

X9. Put em on everything.

SRAM or KMC or other up to a 9speed version.

Buy on price and which looks prett to use.

Been using KMC X8 and X9 for a long time, but recently DRAM PC-850/9 something or other numbers and also really liking the lower down cheaper KMC chains too.

I have a few other brands I've fitted to a commuter and it's been grand so far, can't remember the name though.
Edit: it might be YBN, would certainly use again.

Shimano HG40 if it must be Shimano but, as above, I would go for KMC X8 or SRAM PC850.

SRAM 7 or 8 speed all day, doesn't really matter which one in all honesty

Don't buy the cheapest SRAM chain (820/830) as it doesn't have hardened pins, go for the 850 as it's much longer-lasting. Shimano IME are the quietest and smoothest but wear out quicker than Liz Truss.
