CeramicSpeed’s Chainless MTB & Road Drivetrain Now Shifts

Re:

From an engineering perspective, impressive.

Practically... It'll take something revolutionary to change from the chain drive system.

Re:

No denying how cool it looks, if I was a single speed fruit loop I'd have one!

I am not convinced by the "big advantage" of getting the derailleur out of its "really danger space". In 25 years of mtbing I have broken one derailleur and that was caused by a plastic bag getting tangled in it!

Also what happens when you have an issue, at least with a chain you can nearly always manage to bodge a one gear solution to most problems.

Every bicycle gearing inovation is:
An insanely complicated re-invention to solve a problem nobody had.

We are retrobikers, by default we like the past not the future.

If everybody stuck to the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it !" mantra then fixed gear single speed would still rule.

I think it super cool and look forward to future refinements

Re:

I think that looks very cool. Wonder why the cranks have any sort of spider or ring though,

Re:

Would it not be constantly trying to push the rear wheel downwards, extending the suspension, whenever you pedal?

Just realised why, bash guard to protect hitting the bb shell on stuff. Probably.

Chain drive, belt drive and shaft drive do exactly the same thing........I dont understand your thinking :?
