Centre lock rotor play

Looking to move a set of rotors over on to.a brand new set of wheels. One rotor is a tight fit on the centre lock spline, the other has a bit of play (same wheel, so it's the rotor).

Worth worrying about? Will all be well once I tighten the lock ring, or will the play simply chew the hub spline over time?

Re:

i've used centrelock for ages never had any play. is the wear in the rotor or the hub ? I've never seen a disc with wear to the splines in fact.i can flog you a 160mm rt77 if its the disc. Alternatively brand new ones aren't that expensive /www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shimano-RT64-M665-Deore-Disc-Brake-Rotor-Centre-Lock/311939477112.

sorry didnt read your post in full - i'd ditch the rotor myself - buggering up the hub splines = new hub.

Think its a fairly well known problem.

In my experience it's worse/more likely with non Shimano hubs. It's almost as if Shimano slightly the wrong spec for Centrelock so you'll choose to buy Shimano hubs/wheels instead of 3rd party...

Know a few people who have bought complete bikes that have had rotor play since day one. They've tried explaining the problem to the retailer only to be fobbed off so are still riding around with wobbly rotors and none of them have died from doing so.

Re:

The wheels are brand new fulcrum. The rotors are formula. I don't like the idea of the play so ordered a new rotor. I'd rather not wreck the new hub.

I must admit, all my previous centre lock experience has been very tight fit, almost too tight but no play is a good thing. Annoying to have to buy a new one, but feels the right thing to do here.
