Was Gripshift a company in its own right? I always thought it was just a trademark of SRAM.

Either way both are SRAM now.

I Suppose Avid is the same, then.

I guess I was trying to distinguish between brands/companies that no longer exist versus ones that have merely been "borged".

Hence I don't count Avid, Truvative, Zipp and Rockshox.
