CBT Italia Krypton - finally finished

sheggers

Old School Hero
After 6 months of hunting and searching for parts, often paying over the odds due to a lack of patience, the CBT Italia is finished. I even built most of it myself, but needed some assistance every now and then from my local LBS. The frame had never been built up and has some nice aero curves, including aero forks, downtube and rear triangle.

Parts are a mixture of Campagnolo chorus and record and hopefully all from the correct era (early 90s) aside from the headset, which is Nuovo Record and which I bought before I'd decided what I was really going to do.

Not ridden it yet as it's been raining all weekend but fingers crossed for some dry weather over the Christmas break. Pretty pleased how it's turned out but now need something else to do with my time...

Really nice. Good looking bike that. Bit of polish on that seatpost though :) Was the XA stem around when the 50th group was introduced? Not sure? If it is a copy then it's been done pretty well.

Re:

Good point on the seatpost - will get some spittle on it later

The stem does look pretty well done - the engraving is good quality, I've just not been able to find any pictures of any similar ones on the net, which makes me suspicious. I can't imagine it's the only one!

Agree with the others, you have built a true thing of beauty.
A stunning looking machine, you should be well proud.
Enjoy many happy miles together and keep us updated for sure.

Re:

Thanks all.

I'm thinking of putting some new pedals on - some clipless or SPDs. Any recommendations for something from the correct period?
