Move the sensor closer to the computer, the max operating distance is quite short. Batteries, as has been mentioned, there's a huge difference between cheap and quality batteries, I've found this out with central locking/immobiliser issues over the years.

Came here expecting it to be about why they knowingly make their light clips so rubbish and why they designed their rear light to come on with one gentle push, yet have to push and hold to turn it off?! It's forever being turned on in my backpack during the day - did they strike a deal with Duracell or something?!
