Carrera Flex Information?

The idea is to have a bike that looks a bit better, albeit eccentric, and more importantly, will carry me comfortably cross hill and dale.

A fine goal! One worthy of persuit. What was the thingy you found? looking forward to seeing some pics, this sounds very interesting :)

You know the long bolt that goes down into the head tube which if you undo it you can remove the stem. The stem is cut at an angle and screwed onto the long bolt beneath it is a tubular piece of metal also cut at an angle that matches to the stem angle, only it's slightly wider and overlaps the stem. Do you know what I mean?

Well there was two of those tubular things on the bolt. Have googled to see if I can find the name of it but to no avail.

Decals going on this weekend then it's pretty much done, assuming I don't blow it. The sticker man said that it's going to be difficult to get them on properly given the nature of the material, the size of some of my designs and the shape of the surface they're to go on. And now I've discovered some scratches already!!!

Should be called ruffstuff bodger, not badger :)

If it's the wedge type thing to which you are referring it's called a wedge :D

A wedge, that's the thingummy. Two of those.

Two? :S most odd. Probably it's had a stem changed at some point and the original wedge was wedged in the steerer (see what I did there?), they to have a tendency to corrode in to place if you don't grease them when assembling. New stem banged in before the old wedge was taken out.
