Caroline Alexander’s Klein “Pulse” - Attitude by a different name? Racing History, no less.

We’re getting a little closer. One step at a time.

So the vector I acquired is a spring fork and the sunburst raced bike had an elastomer version. I’ll address that later having taken a view. I’m sure I could switch it up but to my mind the spring would work better. But, it’s not what she rode. Quandary.

In the meantime more parts beckon.

I still am weighing up the rim choice based on what I’ve learnt and what I have at my disposal and additionally the other expensive parts.

Although, this Pulse was a racer so you would be forgiven for thinking that I could potentially get away with cheaper used parts? Wrong! Last time I looked Grafton Joystix were not inexpensive that’s if you could find them avoiding overseas shipping and import charges etc etc.

In any case, when I eventually get the photos from the professional I’ll write up a parts list and see what’s available.

Wish me luck! (and some winning midweek lottery numbers would not go amiss ;)

Excellent score. What's the race history with the frame? What races did Caroline use this one? Did she have a few frames across the season/s or stick with one?

What’s curious is that the Klein BMW team appears to have been her team in 1996 and the red pulse was her steed. The one I’m working on is an earlier model. I say this as the decals/forks etc are older. It’s not clear what exact years she rode the sunburst but hopefully the photographer will give me some information when he shares the archive photos. What I can say is that on the sunburst pulse she didn’t appear to he sponsored by BMW judging by her clothing apparel.
cool project. does the zipgrip move freely? when I spoke to the seller he hadnt tried it in a few decades.
seems to be good yes. 👍
