Hi all.
I have just purchased a carlton road bike. My first road bike for nearly 20 years.
not sure of the model yet. Any advice would be very welcome. I shall post a picture when I pick it up.
Thanks

Yep, Carlton cobra early 70's..........my first real bike. I stuck sprints and tubs on it and raced it :) Loks in damn fine fettle...

Red / Black was the five speed and Blue / Black was the ten speed.

Not 531 but Tru-Well Carlton tubing which wasn't shabby :D

Yes sorry about that. Posting on my mobile.

Re:

Got a Carlton Cobra just like that - maybe slightly less authentic (had to put a different crank on it). Previously to this Id had one back in the 70's and must have rode a long, long way on it. Very handsome bikes. Look after the chrome.

Re:

Picked up the cobra today a little more scruffy than the picture shows. The frame number is 7022975. Where can I get head bearing cups from? Would it be wrong to turn it in to a 10 speed.
