1980 Grand Prix. I'm going to have to call it "The Beast". It's not worth restoring but £25 on parts to make it a single will get it back on the road.
PlanetX conversion kit. Dead easy to put on my re-used 700c wheels from my Giant CRS, running 35c Schwalbe Marathon Plus. 42T front and 16T rear. No idea if it will be useful yet but a quick spin down my road says it's pretty good gearing.
Needs a nice seat (Charge Spoon probably) bar tape and a re-wire of the brakes.
Ran smoothly first time and straight chain run.
If I use it enough I'll get a proper single chai set. Very interested to put a few miles on it and maybe some mudguards so I can add it to the commute bikes for the 15 miler to work.
