Not quite finished, but first ride today.

Rescued from a frame set that near ready for the skip, a £4 paint job and home made decals and airbrushed logos. Paint job used materials already left over from previous projects and is in Midnight Black Metal flake, (Black flake with a hint of blue flake) over a black base coat and then lacquered. Aim was for a retro look rather than recreation of the original, as no idea what original build was, as frame came in a shabby blue!, decals are non original, Giro logo based on the modern logo of the race

Chainset was originally a Campanolo Strada, but the tapers are too worn and it fowls the chain stay, so its got a later Shimano RSX, I have a 52T Ring for it the 46T on it was ex cross bike and far to low for road use, still to fit the front gears and set chain length.

No back brake (missing a suitable cable!), retro style bottle cage in silver still to be fitted.

Weight at just over 22lbs pretty respectable, not trying to be a weight weinie.

Very nice Sloping crown forks, italian lugs and the "Victor" seat cluster........

A pic of the seat lugs should show the seat stays narrowing as they go into the seat tube

That's a later generation Victor ear seat stay / lug treatment. The earlier version was a little different.

Makes no difference........fully sloping crown and shot in seat stays are a killer combination

Full of Carlton gorgeousness, get a Brooks professional on there though in the seat department.

Fair enough, they look good though. Try a honey saddle they break in easier!

Now I got a 52T Outer Chainring to replace the 46T, however the inner is 36T, I thought is was a 38t but it is a 36T. Is 36T to 52T (16t) too big a jump for a front Derailer?
