Carlton Fixed wheel bike. £40 collected.

Carlton Frame, built up as fixed.
55cm seat tube and 56cm top tube.
Frame number 285904 (On rear dropout)
The finish is possibly Acrilochrome, it has a lot of surface rust, which I've started to remove, the rear seatstays look to be in better condition.
No decals, but headtube badge is in place.
Some thoughts that it may be a Cobra when discussed here.

Running 52x18 (78 inch gear)
27" wheels, Mavic MA2 on the rear wheel which along with the drivetrain is in usable condition.
The front tyre is solid rubber! No need to worry about punctures, but be more concerned when cornering!
Front Weinmann brake with Carlton hood.
One Cotterpin nut is missing.

I've been riding this to work and back but now am using my bike with mudguards. I'm stuck for space in the shed so am selling this cheap.
A renovation project or winter hack? (Has eyes for guards.)

£40 collected. Please note now SOLD.

I'll be advertising this locally as well.

I'll give you twenty pounds for it and pick it up from you tomorrow. I don't think its worth anything really since it's beyond repair (or at least looks to be in the photo's).

Ta,

To be fair, if he put it on eBay as 'fixie ratlook' ect, he would get a lot more than £40.......
Make of that what you will ;0)

Go on my son, you're right there.
Can you write the blurb for my ebay post?
I was tempted to do this just to see what the result would be, but I just couldn't do it!
Great opportunity for someone to see what the 'market' will pay!
I'm just looking to recoup the money I paid for the rear wheel (£10) and to drop my brother £20 for the rest as he passed it on to me!

Thought I hadn't seen you out and about on this one for a while, velo' !!

I used to take on this sort of project....but I've now reached the age where I know that life really IS too short!

You could write the ebay 'Blurb' for this.
Although I'm sure you would pour some engine oil in and shake it, see the result and then saw it in half and consign it to the scrap metal bin!
Cheap hack(saw) bike anyone?

I have a hack saw - if you ride it up Carlton Hill (appropriate!) you can take home a selection of extension tubes/levers in a carrier bag!

It it wasn't that chromed finish I might have a go at - but will I think be a bugger to strip back to bare metal (assuming that there IS any!).

THIS didn't look a whole lot better than yours when I got it:
