Carlton Corsair front derailleur cable route

Hi
I’m struggling with this, I can’t find anything online to accurately show how the cable routes. It appears to come up from the bottom, through the hole in the arm and secured at the top. Simple, but this doesn’t facilitate any movement on the cable and as such doesn’t move the derailleur.
It’s so simple, but it’s driving me nuts. Any help or direction will be greatly appreciated thank you

Cable outer to that little cable stop

Change the front mech to one that doesn't need a cable stop in the mech as there is one on the frame.

Or run a longer outer from the front cable stop to the front mech.

Thank you but that’s a different mech and I can’t make out the one on the red frame but looks different as well
